сокр NRCSУправление в структуре Министерства сельского хозяйства [ Department of Agriculture, U.S.]. Создана в 1994. Правопреемница Службы по борьбе с эрозией почвы [Soil Erosion Service] (1933) и Службы охраны земельного фонда [Soil Conservation Service (SCS)], созданной по Закону об охране земельного фонда [Soil Conservation Act of 1935]. Осуществляет экологический контроль за состоянием земельного фонда в 3 тыс. т.н. "районах охраны", охватывающих более 2 млрд. акров земельных угодий во всех 50 штатах, а также на островах Гуам, Пуэрто-Рико и Вирджинских островах. Оказывает содействие в сохранении плодородия почв, особенно на территории десяти штатов Великих равнин [ Great Plains], в рекультивации территорий отработанных шахт и рудников и в развитии мелиорации, следит за использованием водных ресурсов, осуществляет меры по предотвращению наводнений и осуществляет ряд других программ технической помощи штатам.English-Russian dictionary of regional studies > Natural Resources Conservation Service
